How I Style Velvet

With the 90's fashion well and truly back I wanted to show how easy it is to incorporate these trends into any wardrobe. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I love 90's fashion however personally I'm not daring to go all out. Today I thought I would show how I incorporate velvet with my usual style. Velvet is a timeless material and can create dimension to any look.

Before I go into the outfit I just thought I would mention my new hair colour! I've had light blonde hair now for a few years and recently I have not been happy with it due to my skin becoming paler. I wanted to warm up my face a little so I opted for a warm brown and added subtle highlights through the ends. I really like it however it's quite a big change from my usual blonde!

Sunglasses // RayBan
Crop Top // Primark
Skirt // Missguided
Boots // Primark
Red Liquid Lipstick // Makeup Revolution

This skirt was so simple to style, It's a modern cut but has that timeless velvet finish! I paired it with a striped crop top to add some pattern to my outfit and finished it off with these gorgeous boots. I am obsessing over boots with metal accents so when I saw these in Primark for £18 I had to get them. They're perfect to go out in but they will also be perfect in the Autumn season.

Overall velvet can be very easy to style. A black skirt or dress can easily be built around and adapted to your style. What is your favourite era of fashion?

  11. My mummy wears vintage 1950's and 80's velvet all the time, it can look very classic if styled correctly. She can't wait for a whole gothic look to come out this AW/16
