My New Wash Journey

I love trying out new beauty products, especially ones that are proven to be more natural and healthy for the body. Recently I have been experimenting with hair products and finding what is best for my hair type so when given the opportunity to try out New Wash* by Hair Studio I knew I had to try it.

New Wash is not your typical product, it is a hair cleanser that is supposed to replace all hair products including shampoo and conditioner, intriguing right? The cleanser itself is made up of essential oils and more natural ingredients,  making it completely detergent free. Detergents are the ingredient in regular shampoos that will break down the body's moisture barrier, they clean the hair but are not the healthiest of options. I am trying to grow my hair out and since my hair is quite fine, I really want to try out more natural products. Hair Studio have set a 30 day challenge to completely replace all hair products with New Wash, I am so excited to see if there is any difference in my hair and if the condition improves!

The first time I used New Wash?

This product really has me intrigued. The first time I used this it was definitely a different hair washing experience than what I am used too. Firstly since this is a cleanser, there is not that usual lather you experience when using a regular shampoo. It felt as though I was rubbing conditioner into my scalp which is an odd feeling to me since I usually only condition the ends. Secondly you really have to make sure you wash this product all out, I found it stuck to my hair more than shampoo would. The scent to this product has a very floral essence and made my hair smell so clean. When rinsing the product out my hair did not feel striped down and dry as it usually does when using a regular shampoo, it felt moisturized and strong.

Do I like New Wash?

I can honestly say that I do! Once I had gotten over the weird sensation of washing my hair with a cleanser and I had dried my hair, the results amazed me. My hair was sleek and soft but also had a nice shine to it. My hair usually looks quite dull but this gave it some depth and felt so healthy. The hair was completely clean and smelt very fresh.

Overall I am excited to take this 30 day challenge. Already my hair feels super healthy and I cannot wait to see what results I get after a full month of trying this product. If you would like to check New Wash out you can find them on Hair Studio's website along with other natural and hair friendly products.

Would you ever consider replacing your shampoo's for more natural alternatives?

  3. This is definitely a new one on me and I wonder what it would be like on afro hair and if it would wash out successfully as it sounds a little tricky. Guess this is another product to look out for.

  4. Is the shampoo cruelty free as well. My normal shampoo always weighs my hair down and does not stop it from looking dull, so I am looking for a new alternative x
